Route 100B Bridge In Moretown Now Open To Public Travel
From the Governor’s office:
The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) today opened a storm-damaged bridge along Route 100B in Moretown. Opening the bridge restores the full length of Route 100B, about eight miles of roadway, to full north-south travel.
The bridge’s deck was badly damaged by Tropical Storm Irene, but its substructure was left intact. Crews installed a new deck, and today the bridge was reopened to traffic. Guardrail still needs to be installed. That work will be conducted on Thursday. Crews will limit traffic to one lane while the guardrail is being installed, so motorists should expect delays.
Questions regarding storm-damaged roads and bridges related to Tropical Storm Irene can be answered by calling VTrans’ Irene Storm Center at 1-800-Vermont. People can also visit VTrans’ website at http://www.aot.state.vt.us/ where they can sign up for travel updates for their mobile phone, and follow the agency’s progress on both Facebook and Twitter.
